The much-awaited Bigg Boss 18 finale is set to take place today. Five finalists – Rajat Dalal, Vivian Dsena, Karanveer Mehra, Chum Darang, and Avinash Mishra – are in the race to win the coveted trophy and the grand cash prize.

How Much Is the Cash Prize?

According to a report by Mint, the winner of Bigg Boss 18 will take home ₹50 lakh. This is the same amount that was awarded in the previous season, when stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui won the show. Along with the cash prize, the winner will receive a stunning all-gold trophy, designed to match the luxurious interiors of the Bigg Boss house.

Changes in Cash Prizes Over the Years

The cash prize for Bigg Boss has varied across its 18 seasons. In the first five seasons, winners took home ₹1 crore. These winners included Rahul Roy, MTV Roadies 6 winner Ashutosh Sharma, and actors Vindu Dara Singh, Shweta Tiwari, and Juhi Parmar.

However, the prize money dipped starting in Season 6 and has fluctuated since then. Here are some examples:

  • Season 8: Gautam Gulati won ₹25 lakh (the lowest cash prize so far).
  • Season 12: Dipika Kakkar won ₹30 lakh.
  • Season 13: Sidharth Shukla won ₹50 lakh.
  • Season 15: Tejasswi Prakash won ₹40 lakh.
  • Season 16: MC Stan won ₹31.8 lakh.

Guest Contestants’ Huge Paychecks

While the winners take home a hefty sum, guest contestants are known to earn even more for their appearances on the show. For example:

  • Pamela Anderson earned ₹2.5 crore for just three days on Bigg Boss 4.
  • Rimi Sen was reportedly paid ₹2 crore per week during Bigg Boss 15.
  • Wrestler The Great Khali and cricketer Sreesanth each earned ₹50 lakh for their roles in Bigg Boss 4 and Bigg Boss 12.

Where to Watch the Finale

The Bigg Boss 18 finale will air on Colors TV and stream on JioCinema today, January 19, at 9:30 pm. The winner is expected to be announced after midnight.
