Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was attacked in his Bandra home in the early hours of January 16. The incident occurred in his 11th-floor flat when an intruder confronted his maid. Saif tried to intervene, leading to a violent altercation where he was stabbed multiple times. He was rushed to Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital and is now recovering. Doctors have confirmed he is out of danger.
The Auto-Rickshaw Driver’s Role
Bhajan Singh, an auto-rickshaw driver, played a crucial role in helping Saif reach the hospital quickly. He was later called to the Bandra Police Station for questioning. Speaking to ANI, Bhajan said, “I was called there for questioning… I didn’t think about money that night. I have not been contacted by Kareena Kapoor or anyone else so far.”
Kareena Kapoor’s Statement
Kareena Kapoor, Saif’s wife, visited Lilavati Hospital on Saturday and also recorded her statement with the Bandra Police. She shared on Instagram, “It has been an incredibly challenging day for our family. We request the media to respect our privacy as we process these events.” Kareena mentioned that the attacker was aggressive but did not steal any valuables from the house.
The Attacker Caught
The suspect, Aakash Kanojia, was caught by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) in Durg while traveling on the Jnaneswari Express train. According to reports, more than 30 statements have been recorded by the police so far to investigate the incident.
Saif’s Condition and Recovery
Saif underwent a long surgery after the attack. Doctors revealed that the knife came dangerously close to causing a major spinal injury. Thankfully, he is expected to make a full recovery.
This shocking incident has raised concerns about security for celebrities in Mumbai. While Saif is now safe and recovering, the investigation continues to uncover more details about the attack and its motive.
