The murder of NCP leader Baba Siddique has led to a shocking revelation in the investigation. Mumbai Police have learned that the main shooter, Shiv Kumar Gautam, went back to the scene of the crime in Bandra East after the murder. He also visited Lilavati Hospital in Bandra West to confirm whether Baba Siddique had died.
Details of the Murder and Investigation
On November 10, the Mumbai Crime Branch and the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force arrested Shiv Kumar Gautam in Nanpara, a town in Bahraich district, Uttar Pradesh. Police say that Shiv Kumar was closely connected to Shubham Lonkar, one of the key suspects in the case, and was also in contact with Anmol, the brother of notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.
During questioning, Shiv Kumar admitted to fleeing the scene after the murder. He changed his shirt, kept the old one and the murder weapon in a bag, and threw the bag under an abandoned car. The car was just 250 meters away from the spot where the shooting took place. After this, Shiv Kumar returned to the crime scene and waited for about ten minutes.
Confirmation of Siddique’s Death
Shiv Kumar saw that the police had arrived at the crime scene and Baba Siddique was rushed to Lilavati Hospital. But he didn’t know whether Siddique had died or not. To confirm, he went to Lilavati Hospital and waited there until he got the news of Siddique’s death.
Police later found the bag with the shirt and the pistol two days after the murder.

Shiv Kumar’s Escape
After confirming that Siddique had died, Shiv Kumar took an auto to Kurla railway station. From there, he traveled to Thane, then to Pune. After waiting a few hours in Pune, he took a train to Uttar Pradesh. On the way, he destroyed his phone and bought a new one in Lucknow.
Shiv Kumar and the other shooters had originally planned to meet at Ujjain after the murder and also visit the Vaishnodevi temple in Jammu. However, since his fellow shooters were arrested at the crime scene, Shiv Kumar decided to flee to Uttar Pradesh. He then made plans to escape to Nepal but was caught in Bahraich, where he was hiding in a safe house.
Other Links and Shootings
The investigation also revealed that two other suspects, Gaurav Apune and another individual, had practiced firing weapons in a forest in Jharkhand. They were planning to kill a politician based in Pune. The police believe that this was part of a larger plan by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang to eliminate high-profile targets.
Interestingly, the police also found out that the Bishnoi gang had planned to kill Aftab Poonawala, the man accused of murdering his girlfriend, Shraddha Walkar, and chopping her body. The gang thought that killing Poonawala would bring them publicity due to the media attention the case received.
Shubham Lonkar, one of the key figures in the plot to kill Baba Siddique, had been radicalized by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. He had previously tried to join the army but failed. After that, he was influenced by Lawrence Bishnoi while in a Gujarat jail. Lonkar even created a WhatsApp group called “Balaatkari Log” (which means “Rapists’ People”) with the goal of targeting people who committed crimes such as rape. He was trained in the use of high-end weapons in countries like Azerbaijan and Nepal.
Conclusion
The investigation into Baba Siddique’s murder has uncovered several shocking details about the planning and execution of the crime. Police have made several arrests and are continuing to track down other individuals linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. As the case unfolds, authorities are looking into further potential threats and gang activities in the region.
