Actress Rhea Chakraborty has finally spoken about the darkest phase of her life — the time after the tragic death of her then-boyfriend, Sushant Singh Rajput. In a recent interview, Rhea shared how both her and her brother Showik Chakraborty’s lives fell apart during and after the intense media scrutiny.

A Life Turned Upside Down

Speaking to CNBC TV18, Rhea said,

“When we went through the tragedy that we went through, we both lost our careers. I stopped getting any acting work.”

At the same time, her brother Showik, who had scored an impressive 96 percentile in CAT, also got arrested.

“That’s the same time that he got arrested. When he came back out, the first trimester was already lost and so was his MBA career, his future planning,” she added.

No One Wanted to Hire Showik

Rhea revealed how difficult it became for her brother to rebuild his life.

“Getting a job for Showik afterwards in any corporate was very difficult. No one wanted to hire someone who had so much media scandal around them,” she said.

She also spoke about their mental struggle and the uncertainty they faced.

“For a while, we weren’t sure where our lives were going to go. Like, what’s next?”

Turning Pain Into Purpose

It was during this tough time that the brother-sister duo decided to create something of their own. That’s when Chapter 2 Drip, a clothing brand, was born.

“We had our healing process,” Rhea shared. And through that, they found a new beginning.

A Clean Chit and a New Start

Eventually, both Rhea and Showik were given a clean chit in the Sushant Singh Rajput case. While Showik has chosen to stay away from the limelight, Rhea is slowly making her way back.

She was recently seen on the reality show Roadies, and has also launched her own podcast, where she interviews big stars like Aamir Khan, Sushmita Sen, Farhan Akhtar, and Honey Singh.

From Heartbreak to Hope

Rhea’s story is a reminder that even in the face of hate and hardship, one can choose to rise again. From being jobless and judged to building her own brand and reconnecting with her passion, Rhea Chakraborty is writing a new chapter — one filled with strength, courage, and second chances.
