Virat Kohli, the star batter of Team India, recently celebrated 10 years of his clothing brand, Wrogn, with a special post on his official X profile. The post was meant to highlight the success of his venture and show his excitement for its future. However, it caused confusion among many fans, who thought the post was a serious announcement, possibly about his retirement.
The picture that Kohli shared had no caption, and the statement included in the post seemed very formal. Fans quickly made the connection to how Kohli had previously made major announcements, like resigning from his captaincy in T20I and Test cricket. This caused some of them to panic, fearing that Kohli might be announcing his retirement from the game. Many users expressed their frustration and fear, thinking that the message hinted at an end to his cricket career.

Kohli, at 36 years old, has been one of India’s most important players, especially in Australia. However, his recent form has been a cause for concern. Since returning to Test cricket in August, Kohli has struggled. In five Tests against Bangladesh and New Zealand, he managed only one half-century. During the home series against New Zealand, he didn’t score a single half-century, contributing to India’s disappointing 0-3 loss. In fact, Kohli has only scored 250 runs in six Tests this year, which is far below his usual standards.
With the Border-Gavaskar Trophy approaching, the pressure is on for both Kohli and the Indian team. India is aiming for a third consecutive Test series win in Australia. But more importantly, they need to perform well to secure a place in the final of the World Test Championship. A loss or a narrow victory could hurt their chances of reaching the final for the third time in a row.
As for Kohli, the Indian team management will be hoping he regains his form before the five-Test series begins. The first match of the series starts in Perth on November 22, and fans will be eagerly watching to see if Kohli can find his rhythm and deliver for India.
